Three Questions With Peter Dugan

Crested Butte Music Festival is taking a look behind the curtain and bringing the personalities of our artists to you, our audiences! Emily Ondracek-Peterson, co-Artistic Director of the Festival, is launching and curating a new blog series, Three Questions With…, a fast and fun look at upcoming performers throughout the Festival season.

This installment features pianist Peter Dugan, who will perform with his wife, Kara Dugan Friday, July 7th in the Mirror Palace for CBMF’s Sweet Sounds event…

Emily:
You’re returning to CBMF; what do you like about performing in Crested Butte?

Peter:
The audience in Crested Butte is amazing! I love the close-knit, welcoming, appreciative crowd. Plus, it’s a treat to be able to perform in such a beautiful location!

Emily:
What strategies do you employ to work successfully with your spouse, with whom you perform regularly?

Peter:
Good question! Kara and I have been performing together since we met almost 7 years ago. We try to keep our rehearsals professional and completely focused on the music. We are really tuned into each other, so rehearsals generally go best when we play, sing, and listen without too much talking!

Emily:
If you were offered a free seat on one of the upcoming commercial space vehicles, would you go and why?

Peter:
Would they be able to fit a piano on the spaceship?
